Tesla

101 – THE BASICS

The introduction of Tesla and its electric vehicles marked a revolutionary shift in the automotive industry. Delivering unparalleled performance in an electric package was a game changer, and ECC embraced this innovation with enthusiasm. Staying true to our mission of being one of the most innovative shops in Australia, we dove headfirst into the world of Tesla and electric vehicle modifications.

As pioneers in this space, we were the first shop in Queensland and among the first in Australia to purchase and begin modifying a Tesla. Our journey began with a Model 3 Performance, acquired as soon as it hit the market. We immediately started exploring its potential, pushing the boundaries of what was possible with electric vehicle performance and customization.

To ensure we could safely and effectively work on these advanced vehicles, the ECC team completed comprehensive training in electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle, and high-voltage systems. Our commitment to excellence and safety is unwavering, and we pride ourselves on being qualified and skilled to handle these cutting-edge technologies.

Our passion for Tesla didn’t stop there. After selling our first Model 3 Performance, we quickly acquired a new Model 3 Long Range to continue our exploration and testing. Our dedication to staying at the forefront of the EV aftermarket space has led us to make multiple trips to the US, where we engage with other industry leaders and explore the latest product ranges.

At ECC, we have even set up our own Tesla charging station at our premises, underscoring our commitment to supporting electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts. Multiple members of our team own and drive Teslas, and we have both a Cybertruck and a Model S Plaid on order, with deposits paid to be among the first in the country to receive them.

While the range of “performance products” available for Teslas is still growing, we are actively investigating and exploring all upgrade options. ECC is one of the only shops in Australia to have modified components such as suspension and swaybar upgrades. We have one of the only Teslas in the country on a full airbag suspension kit, and we’ve also made upgrades to wheels and tyres, aftermarket dash units, electronic exhausts, and more.

Furthermore, ECC is an authorized INGENX dealer, offering performance upgrade chips and units that can enhance the speed and performance of Teslas. We believe strongly in facing industry disruptions head-on, and we will continue to lead in aftermarket EV modifications in every way possible.

While the Australian market is still catching up to the US in terms of modifying these vehicles, you can rest assured that as the market evolves, ECC will be at the forefront, ready to go. Our commitment to innovation and excellence ensures that we remain leaders in this rapidly changing industry.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN MODIFYING THIS PLATFORM

Whilst it seems to be a bit of an industry standard, to look at modification paths for a car based on bundles of modification, commonly referred to as “stages”. We have found at ECC that this isn’t always the case, with all builds being different in their own right, and comparing “stages” is generally not a great like for like comparison when there is no regulation between what a workshop will include in said stages.

For this reason, why have put together this basic modification and upgrade guide, which should walk you through the basics of what you need to know when modifying this platform. Specifically, the best ways to go about things and more importsntly, what NOT to do, toensure you dont make expensive or costly mistakes when commencing this journey.

Throw in your details and download a copy – this should give you most of the information you need to know when it comes to this platform, and of course, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
