F150

101 – THE BASICS

America’s truck – and the most popular selling truck in the world – is finally here in Australia with the local release of the all-new 14th Generation F150. WHile a loooong time coming, this latest iteration continues Ford Motor Company’s tradition of crafting exceptional performance trucks, redefining what it means to drive a full-size pickup, and have a truck that ticks. every box.

Whilst the earlier launch of the Ram 1500 and Silverado 1500 are what really made the full size pickup market in Australia what it is today, Ford finally came to the party with their offering on the 14th Gen and it is definitely worth the wait.

In Australia, all local models of the F150 are manufactured in the US, then undergo aftermarket conversion at Ford Australia, ensuring they meet local specifications and preferences, while maintaining Ford’s renowned quality and reliability.

While unfortunately, the 5.0 Coyote v8 option may not have made it to Australia, enthusiasts can still harness formidable power with the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost engine. This powerhouse, familiar from earlier generation F-150 Raptors, delivers robust performance and impressive efficiency, thanks to its twin-turbochargers and direct injection technology, and paired with the every formidable 10R80 10 speed transmission.

Ford’s commitment to performance is evident in the continuity of their engines across generations. Both the 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L Coyote engines debuted way back in the 12th generation F150, and continue to impress in the newest 14th generation. The 3.5L EcoBoost v6 excels in delivering high horsepower and torque (298kw and 678nM of torque) with enhanced fuel efficiency and a driving experience second to none.

The overwhelming popularity of the 3.0 Twin Turbo Ranger Raptor in Australia set the stage, and now big brother is finally here!

As always, ECC are at the forefront of F150 development in Australia. By even flying down to Melbourne and driving one back, we made sure we got our hands on one of the first models available in Australia, and have already developed and tested all the common packages and products on our own vehicle before most people in Australia have even taken delivery of theirs. ECC is super familiar with performance modifications and specalised tuning of the Ecoboost platform and has been an industry leader here for years (in both the earlier Mustangs, Focus, Ranger Raptor, and also the previous F150 Raptor). Combined with the our factory and dealer level tooling for modification and programming, and in depth understanding of the Ford network and architecture, there is no better place to trust Australia’s new truck too, whether it be for performance, off road, accessories or other various upgrades.

In summary, the excitement and hype around 14th Gen F150 is warranted – the wait was worth it! We always said after owning our own Silverado and Ram, that the F150 would be the perfect blend of the two -and Ford nailed it. The performance, tech, conversions & built quality is spot on and we can see these trucks easily taking over this space and for good reason. The F150 brings unmatched capability, innovation, and performance to Australian roads, and sets a new standard in full-size pickup trucks. As ECC continues to enhance and elevate the F150 experience through aftermarket modifications and tailored solutions, we invite you to discover the power and versatility of America’s favorite truck in its latest form with the guys who know them the best.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN MODIFYING THIS PLATFORM

Whilst it seems to be a bit of an industry standard, to look at modification paths for a car based on bundles of modification, commonly referred to as “stages”. We have found at ECC that this isn’t always the case, with all builds being different in their own right, and comparing “stages” is generally not a great like for like comparison when there is no regulation between what a workshop will include in said stages.

For this reason, why have put together this basic modification and upgrade guide, which should walk you through the basics of what you need to know when modifying this platform. Specifically, the best ways to go about things and more importsntly, what NOT to do, toensure you dont make expensive or costly mistakes when commencing this journey.
